Boyzone star Ronan Keating was 'rescued' from a potential run-in with a drunken festival reveller at last weekend's Isle Of Wight festival on Sunday night.

The incident is said to have involved Keating being physically manhandled back stage at the Isle of Wight festival. Ronan Keating's representatives have confirmed the incident took place but stress Keating was the innocent party.

A tabloid source revealed to The Mirror:  "Security escorted the man from the premises. Ronan did nothing to provoke him and reacted like anyone would do in that position’.

Ronan, 35 was seen drinking with fellow musicians Kelly Jones and Paulo Nutini before carrying the party onto the Premier Inn Hotel bar on the festival site. The star was at the festival to see Bruce Springsteen perform. "I was meant to go home early but I was having such a good time. Bruce Springsteen is a legend and amazing live," he said.
