Despite peaking at a lowly No.49 in the UK, Ellie Goulding's 'Lights' has scored the singer a Top Ten single in the US charts this week, climbing to No.6 in America.
Goulding’s hit sold 149,000 downloads in the past week and climbed from No.12 to No.6 half a year after the track's initial release date.
Carly Rae Jepsen retains the No.1 spot with 'Call Me Maybe' followed by Maroon 5 feat. Wiz Khalifa's hit 'Payphone' at No.3. Rihanna's 'Where Have You Been' scrapes past Ellie and is at number 5.
The album with the same title was released in 2010 and Ellie toured the US on her The Lights Tour last year.
The 25 year old British singer song writer won Critics Choice at the Brit Awards in 2010 and claimed the award for Newcomer of the Year 2011 at the 2011 Glamour Magazine Awards.
