Reading and Leeds festival organisers have today warned revellers arriving today for this weekend's festival double of contaminated ketamine found on site.
Organisers took to Twitter to urge festival goers not to bring any narcotics to the festival. The tweet reads as follows:
"Beware! There is contaminated ketamine on site. Do not bring, take or buy any drugs on site. Be safe and enjoy the great line up!" It is unclear whether the warning relates to the Reading or Leeds festival site.
Leeds Festival Police also took to the Twitter to warn festival goers of the risks of leaving your drinks unattended:
"Have fun at #Leeds Festival but watch your drinks - Even soft drinks get spiked!"
Last weekend at V Festival, a man was found dead in his tent. Timothy Brockhurst was discovered dead in his tent in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Stafford V Festival site. The cause of his death has not been revealed.
"Specially trained family liaison officers are working to support the family at this extremely difficult time. The cause of the death remains unknown and a post-mortem will take place early next week," said a spokesman for Staffordshire police.
Brockhurst was pronounced dead at the scene after attempts by festival staff to revive the man were unsuccessful. The area around his tent was sealed off and statements were taken from his friends.
V Festival organisers extended their sympathies to Brockhurst's family, saying in a statement: "Our team worked throughout the night to support those affected at the festival site and we want to thank everyone for their co-operation and support during the incident.
