The National are set to perform in support of Barack Obama's presidential campaign this week.
The band will play before a speech by the US president in De Moines, Iowa, on 1 September.
The five-piece announced their appearance at the rally on their Twitter account @The_National.
They Tweeted: "Proud to support @BarackObama again in 2012. We'll be opening for him in Des Moines on Sept 1. Follow @OFA_IA for details. #fourmoreyears"
The band have been long-term supporters of Obama, designing a T-shirt for him and allowing their song 'Fake Empire' to be used in an advert for the president's 2008 election campaign.
In May The National revealed a new song, 'The Rains of Castamere', for the soundtrack to the HBO series Game of Thrones', which can be listened to below.
The band are also curating the All Tomorrow's Parties festival at Butlins, Camber Sands in December.
