X Factor judge Louis Walsh has predicted that the current series of the ITV talent show will be its last.
Walsh, who has been a mainstay on the show during multiple changes on the judges panel, revealed his feeling that the programme will end this year whilst filming the current series.
Speaking from the Judges Houses stage of this year's show, Walsh is believed to have said: “I think it may end after one more year. I think the tenth season could be it.
“Then, I will just have time for myself! It has just been an amazing time for me, because the people I have met and friendships I’ve developed.
Adding: “I would like to get to the tenth series, have a decade on the show – I’m just happy to be working, to be honest.”
X Factor has been criticised numerous times during its current run with fans unhappy about format changes, a lack of singing and the inability to buy music by the acts auditioning each week. Viewing figures have subsequently fallen with around three million less viewers tuning in to the show than this time last year.
