Rita Ora has claimed that she is no overight success, saying that she's spent enough time in low quality hotel rooms to appreciate her rise to the top this year.

The solo star, who went to number one with her debut single 'RIP' earlier this year, is signed to Jay-Z's record label and has achieved success in both the UK and US. However, things were not always so good.

“I really have paid my dues!" she told The Sun. "When I get to stay in fancy hotel suites these days I remind myself of that. I did endless nights in Travelodges, nasty hotels and motels where the walls were paper-thin. "

Adding: “You could hear people making love or farting in the next room. Gross!”

Ora previously revealed how Coldplay frontman Chris Martin helped with select the tracks for her album when she supported the band earlier this year.
