Former Oasis guitarist Paul Arthurs aka Bonehead has defended the band’s third album ‘Be Here Now’ after Noel Gallagher claimed it 'shat' on the legacy of '(What's The Story) Morning Glory.'
Bonehead played rhythm guitar in Oasis from 1991 to 1999 and admitted to the NME: "It wasn't on a par with 'Definitely Maybe' but I certainly wouldn’t say it was shit.”
The remarks come after Noel Gallagher claimed to be taking a year out from his High Flying Birds project to avoid making another album like 'Be Here Now'.
The former Oasis guitarist continued to support 'Be Here Now' saying if it “was the latest debut album, it would get rave reviews. But if you’re following on the back of 'Definitely Maybe' then it's hard to follow isn't it? The press jumped in and slated it because it was the difficult one after 'Definitely Maybe' and 'What's The Story…' Maybe Noel’s just saying that to cover his back but I certainly don’t think it’s a shit album."
Bonehead recently claimed that Liam Gallagher would rejoin Oasis tomorrow - and that it is Noel Gallgher who is the one standing in the way of a potential reunion.
