Indie rockers The National have made no secret of their desire to release new material, and have previously suggested it might arrive this year, but now they've confirmed details of their sixth album.
The new record is set to be titled Trouble Will Find Me and is due for release on May 4.
The LP has been produced by the band themselves, with mixing from Craig Silvey while long term collaborator Peter Katis and Marcus Paquin have provided additional mixing.
The group's last studio release, High Violet, was released in 2010 and received wide-spread critical acclaim.
Speaking to Uncut recently, frontman Matt Beringer said, "For the past ten years we'd been chasing something, wanting to prove something.
"And this chase was about trying to disprove our own insecurities. After touring High Violet, I think we felt like we'd finally gotten there. Now we could relax - not in terms of our own expectations but we didn't have to prove our identity any longer."
As a preview for the album ahead of its may release, new documentary Mistaken For Strangers will premier at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 17, and will be the first film of the event.
