Micheal Buble spiced up what's normally the most monotonous part of the day for New York commuters this week, with a surprise acapella performance on the New york subway.

The Canadian crooner joined group Naturally 7, who sang backing vocals, to perform a rendition of the Jackson 5 classic 'Who's Lovin' You'.

The eight men performed on the platform of the 66th Street Lincoln Centre stop, with commuters gathering around to film the performance on mobile phones.

Buble hugged the group after their performance and said it was the "coolest thing ever."

"Singing in the New York subway is something that's been done for years and years and I feel like it's the most authentic, organic way to make music," Sky reports him as saying.

"You see some of the greatest musicians in the world come down here and play," the 37-year-old added.

Buble recently released his new album To Be Loved, and is now on tour promoting the record.

"Out of all the press I had to do, out of everything I'm gonna do - Europe and America - this was the thing I was most excited about," the singer confessed.

Buble's big band style and clean cut image have seen him sell millions of records around the world and win several Grammys.

This summer he'll play ten dates at London's O2 Arena.
