Jay-Z has come out to defend himself following the criticism he faced over his million pound deal with Samsung, the downloadable app which offered 1 million copies of the Magna Carta Holy Grail album on a first come first served basis.
In a two part interview on his own Life and Times website, the rapper defends the app, stating how it is moving with the changes in the music industry and part of how his music is staying relevent.
"In America we have an overreaction to everything," he says in an interview on his own website, Life And Times.
"I'm not concerned with noise because I'm playing the long game. I see 10 years down the road and then we'll really be able to judge the album for what it is."
Jay-Z will tour the UK in October
Jay-Z goes onto claim he isn't concerned by the fuss, viewing it as an overreaction typical of Americans.
The rapper also discusses his philosophy on artist collabrations, touching on his collaboration with Justin Timberlake in the leading single 'Holy Grail'. He states how Justin pushed himself out of his comfort zone for the track and as a result reached his best ever vocal performance.
Jay-Z is touring the UK in October. For more information visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
