After threatening to leak the album herself, MIA's fourth studio LP Matangi has finally been given an official release date of November 4, 2013.

The British artist had been willing to take matters into her own hands earlier this week as she became increasingly frustrated with her US record label, Interscope as they continued to delay Mantangi's release.

As previously reported by Gigwise, MIA took to Twitter to force Interscope into making a move.

She wrote: "Who would stop MATANGI from coming out?

"If Interscope takes longer i can always leak this next week and make a new one by the time they are ready."

The controversial singer was supposed to be releasing Matangi in late 2012, but was handed a setback as Interscope her the album was too positive.

In a year of setbacks, MIA's documentary has also been hit by problems as director Ben Loveridge pulled out of the project after a clip was leaked online. The documentary was set to include appearances from Kanye West and Spike Jonze, but looks to be a long way from being complete.
