Following the biggest year of their career in 2013, Biffy Clyro are set to take the success of their epic double album Opposites international, and have announced their first ever gig in South Africa.
The 'Black Chandelier' band will perform at Ramfest 2014 in two sites in Cape Town and Johannesburg in March of next year alongside Foals (who have also seen their status rise dramatically in 2013), Killswitch Engage, Trivium, and many more.
In an announcement on their website, Biffy Clyro say they are 'delighted' to be performing at the festival, while South African fans have returned the compliment after posting the news on their Facebook and Twitter pages.
Biffy Clyro were one of the highlights of this year's Reading & Leeds festivals, as they ascended to headliner status, topping the bill alongside punk icons Green Day and rap superstar Eminem.
Biffy Clyro headlined Reading & Leeds this summer - and were awesome
Speaking of their Reading & Leeds headline slots, frontman Simon Neil told NME earlier in 2013: "Reading always felt like such an exotic festival. Even though it’s been around since the '70s, it just really seemed to come alive in the '90s.
"I think that's when it became the cultural moment that it is now, and the fixture that it is in the calendar... It’s just fucking bizarre. I still can’t get my head round it."
Ramfest takes place on 6 - 9 March 2014. For more information, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
