More about:

Deerhunter have been forced to cancel all upcoming UK and European dates due to 'family circumstances' with a number of band members.

The tour was due to start in Dublin next month, before going on to visit a further seven UK cities. The cancellation also effects the band's appearance at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris.

"We are very disappointed to have to cancel our upcoming European tour due to unforeseen circumstances," said the band in a statement. "We were very excited for these shows, but unfortunately family circumstances at home for multiple members of the band have made this unavoidable. We will reschedule as soon as possible."

The band's effected UK dates are:
October
11 - Dublin Vicar Street
12 Belfast Empire Music Hall
13 Glasgow The Arches
15 Manchester Academy 2
16 Leeds Stylus
17 Liverpool East Village Arts Club
18 Cardiff Solus (SWN Festival)
19 Brighton Concorde 2

Pitchfork Paris have since issued the following statement: We will announce as soon as possible the band that will replace them on 1 November at La Grande Halle."
