Brookes passed away three years after being diagnosed with a brain tumour after being with the band since they formed in 1989. The band have now announced details of a tribute gig in London to pay their respects to Brookes.

"Following the loss of our much missed friend and drummer, Jon Brookes, we, together with some friends, are putting on a show at the Royal Albert Hall," said The Charlatans in an official statement announcing the gig.

"It's our way of raising money for research into and awareness of a cancer that will unfortunately affect many lives as it has ours."

The show will take place on 18 October, 2013. For more information, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
