Kim Shattuck has confirmed that she is leaving Pixies less than three months since she replaced the band's former bassist, Kim Deal.
Shattuck joined Pixies for their ‘extensive world tour’ and played shows throughout Europe and the US.
The bassist revealed the news to fans via her Facebook and Twitter pages.
She wrote: “Super disappointed to learn that my time with the Pixies ended today. Amazing experience.

“Looking forward to focusing my attention back on the Muffs and our upcoming new album.
“All the best to everyone. “
Pixies will begin their tour of North America in January, 2014 which will see them play over 30 shows in the new year.
The band also revealed recently that they are set to headline Field Day 2014 in London’s Victoria Park in June.
