Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has dismissed the possibility of him writing and recording a solo album, but says that he wouldn't mind working alone to score a film soundtrack.

As the band celebrate the release of their Live At Rome Olympic Stadium CD and DVD this week, Bellamy spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about any plans for a solo effort, before he firmly brushed off the possibility - saying he much preferred working within a band

"I've got no interest in that," said Matt. "I really enjoy playing with the other band members, collaborating and so on."

He continued: "I would consider doing things on my own for film and stuff like that where it's not really a vanity kind of deal."

The band are currently looking forward to somewhat of quiet year in 2014, performing at just a handful of festivals and taking time to work on their next album - which they describe as a much more 'stripped back' and rock music-based affair in comparison to recent efforts.

However, speculation remains as to whether Muse will do anything to mark the 20th anniversary of Muse first forming.
