Daft Punk have released the full music video for their new single ‘Instant Crush’, which features The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas.
The video, which is the latest to be taken from Random Access Memories, sees shots of Casablancas performing on a podium interspersed with unnerving museum mannequins in military clothing. One of the mannequins, the protagonist of the whole thing, seems to resemble an undead Casablancas.
If you’re familiar with Night at the Museum, you’ll spend most of the 5 minute 40 video waiting for the wax models to come alive, as sordid janitors attempt to lift up the skirt of the female counterpart.
Instead, they are wheeled into storage and forgotten about. Until a fire erupts and the two melt, hand in hand, into the floor. It’s enough to bring a tear to your eye.

Daft Punk can only hope to follow the success of their summer hit ‘Get Lucky’, which went double platinum in the UK and was one of the biggest hits of 2013.
