The nominees for the 2014 Grammy Awards were announced last night (Friday 6 December) during a televised broadcast of the evening, which included performances from many of the nominees.
US rapper Kendrick Lamar looks to be the years top winner, with an impressive seven nominations with his debut album Good Kid, m.A.A.d City up for both Album of the Year and Rap Album of the Year.
Newcomer Lorde is up for two awards with her No.1 single 'Royals' which is nominated for Single of the Year and Record of the Year, although somewhat surprisingly she didn't make the cut for Best New Artist.
UK acts received a few nods as well, with James Blake making the Best New Artist list, David Bowie down for Best Rock Album and Disclosure see their debut album Settle added to the Best Dance/Electronica Album shortlist.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are also up for six nominations at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
