The Scots are coming to the Isle of Wight in 2014, as Biffy Clyro have been announced to headline next year's island festival, with Calvin Harris joining them at the top of the bill. Full details below.
Biffy Clyro will headline the festival on Friday 13 June, 2014, while Calvin Harris will close the opening night of the festival. Biffy Clyro have risen through the ranks in 2013 to establish themselves as festival headliners, with bill-topping slots at Optimus Alive and Reading + Leeds - among others.
Also on the line-up for the Friday of the Isle Of Wight Festival are Rudimental, The 1975, Passenger and The Waterboys.
Speaking of his excitement at headlining the opening night of the Isle Of Wight, Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro says in a statement: "We are over the moon to announce that we will headline the Main Stage of the Isle of Wight Festival next year, on Friday June 13th. To follow the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Bob Dylan and Pearl Jam is an honour. We cannot wait to get back to this iconic festival, and this beautiful island!"
Festival promoter John Giddings added: "Friday night is going to kick it out of the park with Biffy & Calvin and special guests Rudimental - I can't wait.... having Passenger and The 1975 already on board we’re set for one of our mostcontemporary years - with the class of The Waterboys complementing the young guns nicely...."
