Four tet has taken part in a timed production challenge that has seen him produce a track in 10 minutes, using only samples from Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'.

Youtube channel Don't Watch That, challenged Four Tet (real name Kieran Hebden) to formulate the track for their Beat This series which has also hosted the likes of Swindle, Spooky and Toddla T. Hebden chose to make the track solely from 'Thriller' samples, recording a mixture of bass an drums to cut the track up.

Although it is one of the best tracks created in the series, Hebden was clearly challenged by the experience as he later tweeted: "10 mins is not very long to make a track and I've never sampled thriller before so go easy on me :)". Obviously producing a tune in such a tight timeframe is no mean feat...

Meanwhile Four Tet has confirmed he will play a one off, all night show at Brixton Academy on March 22nd. For ticket details, see below.

The producer curated a similar show in 2013, which saw live performances from Ben UFO, Caribou, Pearson Sound and, of course, Four Tet himself. The lineup for March's show is yet to be confirmed, but Hebden promised fans on Twitter that it will be "crazy". The best news? Tickets will only set fans back £5.
