Foo Fighters have announced they have begun work on their 8th studio album via an Instagram photo captioned "It's fucking ON".
The band posted a photo of a row of master tapes labelled 'Foo Fighters LP 8', providing the evidence that they have indeed begun working on a new record.
At the end of 2013, frontman Dave Grohl spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about the new album saying, "We're doing something that nobody knows about, it's fucking rad. We begin recording soon, but we're doing it in a way that no one's done before and we're writing the album in a way that I don't think has been done before."

Foo Fighters have also been added to the huge line-up of acts playing this years Superbowl weekend and are high up on the rumours list to play Glastonbury Festival this year.
