Coldplay have donated the rather large sum of £260,000 to Jo Wiley's Sport Relief fund raising efforts.

The challenge saw Wiley run on a treadmill for 26 hours whilst inside a perspex box outside the BBC building in central London. At the same time she also presented episodes of her Radio 2 show, taking only a brief break to have blisters lanced and thighs taped up to heal with aches and pains.

Coldplay then said that they would donate £10,000 for every hour that Wiley managed to remain on the treadmill. After she completed 26 hours the band tweeted: “massive respect to the incredible, indegafatible @jowhiley £10K per hour makes £260K sponsorship from us @sportrelief love coldplay.”

“I have loved my challenge – it has had some highs and lows but has truly been one of the most amazing experiences ever, but everything was worth it for Sport Relief," said Wiley. "I am blown away by Coldplay’s generosity and it has made this challenge all the more sweeter.”

Wiley also received help from the Kaiser Chief's Ricky Wilson along the way and was treated to an impromptu performances from the Klaxons, Villagers and Michael Ball. It is yet to be confirmed how much Wiley has raised, but Sport Relief is looking to beat the £50.4 million raised last year.
