Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has landed a deal to write his own memoir, which will touch on his early life, battle with drugs, and, of course, his creative journey with RHCP.
The co-founder of the Californian band has indeed enjoyed a colourful life. As well as playing in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, he's starred in films such as Back To The Future II and Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. He's also performed in the Mars Volta and Thom Yorke's Atoms For Peace.
The untitled autobiography, which is yet to be given a release date, will also touch on his relationship with his "bohemian jazz musician stepfather", his "rebellious" life as a youngster on the streets of LA where he met bandmate Anthony Kiedis, his experiences with hard drugs and the "tumultuous creative journey" of the Red Hot Chili Peppers over the years, according to Time.

Flea will be the second member of RHCP to pen his own memoirs, following on from frontman Anthony Kiedis' critically acclaimed 2004 autobiography Scar Tissue, which reached No 1 on the New York Times' Bestseller List.
