Daft Punk appeared to made a rare live appearance last night (2 October), supporting Dirtybird at the Redbull Music Academy Culture Clash in San Francisco.

In the competition modelled after Jamaican soundclashes, four crews compete to win over the crowd and go home with the title. For last nights San Francisco iteration, Dirtybird went up against Triple Threat, Dub Mission and Tormenta Tropical.

Two performers resembling the robotic duo were brought out to represent Claude Von Stroke's Dirtybird imprint. Despite this and appearances from Major Lazer and rapper Too $hort, they still didn't win, losing out to the Triple Threat DJ crew.

Some have also questioned whether the suited and booted pair are actually Thomas and Guy or a pair of wiley dopplegangers. It's sort of a rhetorical question however as it'll never be answered, so we'll just choose to believe.
