More about: Download Festival
The first line-up announcement for Download festival 2015 is just days away - but the most likely rumoured headliners are currently Muse, Slipknot and Kiss.
Download today revealed that the first line-up announcement is coming at 8am on Monday (17 November):
There is naturally much speculation around who will be topping the bill, but website eFestivals is currently listing Slipknot, Muse and Kiss as 'to be confirmed'. The reliable rumour website last year did the same for bookings such as Metallica and Kasabian at Glastonbury.
It seems reasonable to us. Muse have been booked to play a number of metal and hard rock festivals in Europe around that time, and have been making a 'heavier' album with acclaimed AC/DC producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange.
Slipknot are Download favourites and regulars, but haven't played in since 2013, while Kiss' Gene Simmons' leaked the bill for a day of Download 2015 on Twitter that stated that they were playing. The line-up poster showed that Kiss, Slash, Motley Crue and Enter Shikari were among the initial batch of acts due to play at Donington Park on Sunday 14 June.
However, as Decibelle reports, the line-up was soon said to be fake by Download organiser Andy Copping and the tweet subsequently deleted. However, here it is - courtesy of Decibelle:
