Daft Punk are no longer being linked with the French version of Band Aid, which is being orchestrated by Carla Bruni.

As The Guardian reports, Daft Punk were initially slated to take part in the charity single, which will be to help fight the spread of Ebola in west Africa. Johnny Hallyday was also rumoured to appear.

However, neither name appears in the list of confirmed acts issued in a press release - instead, names such as Vanessa Paradis, Lou Doillon, BB Brunes and Shaka Ponk will appear. Singer Carla Bruni, who is also France's former first lady, will take lead vocals on the track.

The single is entitled 'Noel Est La' (Christmas Is Here)' and will be released on 1 December, with all proceeds going to Band Aid.

Meanwhile, Britain's Band Aid 30 reached No.1 this weekend with their new version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas?', but Bob Geldof has urged anyone who's downloaded it to delete it and buy it again.
