More about: The BeatlesKanye WestPaul McCartney
Kanye West is "shining light on unknown artist" Paul McCartney according to fans of new single "Only One".
The artistically auto-tuned track is a heartfelt ode to West's mother, Donda, who died of surgery complications in 2007. The ground-breaking rapper wrote the song with McCartney from the perspective of his mum, who he believes spoke out to him through his daughter, Nori.
Astonishingly however, it turns out kids have been having trouble identifying the Beatles legend, taking to Twitter to praise West on putting the spotlight on the "new" star...
Highlights include:
Who is this Paul McCartney?❓❓❗??? He boutta blow up thanks to Kanye!!! ❗️👌😳

And one user, after this travesty emerged, put:
If she don't know who Paul McCartney is before that new Kanye track, she's too young for you bro.

It's not the first time a fandom have got the wrong end of the stick, with One Direction fans last year left perplexed as to why the band were wearing poppies during their UK X Factor performance.
