Paul Weller had declared that his new album Saturn's Pattern is "one of the best things I've done" but has sided with Miles Kane over his recent spat with Sleaford Mods.
A man with something of a scorched Earth approach to his own back catalogue, Weller declares his new album, due this Spring, a "defiantly 21st Century" record.
Writing in the new issue of Uncut Magazine he announces "I can't compare it to any of my other albums. I think it's different not just for me, but different from what else is around."
However, although Weller is quick to praise how there have been "no headaches" with this new album, he still has a gift for a withering put down. In an interview with Q Magazine Weller reveals his thoughts on Sleaford Mods. When informed by Miles Kane that "I really liked them and tweeted that... and they slagged me off...They had a pop at you too" Weller says simply: "Tell them they're cunts.... You tell em from me. Fucking Sleaford Mods."
Weller recently announced he would be embarking on a 14-date UK tour of often overlooked towns and cities. The tour includes venues that, according to a press release, are "often missed by touring bands", such as Swindon, Watford, Stoke-On-Trent, Halifax and Carlisle.
The tour kicks off on 5 March at Plymouth Pavilions, and travels through 13 locations before coming to an end in Edinburgh on 22 March. Buy tickets safely and securely on Seatwave.
