Edwyn Collins has been announced as keynote speaker, alongside Wayne Coyne, at Liverpool Sound City this year.
During his speech, Collins will explore his long and influential career, including how his life and music changed following a cerebral haemorrhage in 2005. The conference will also feature an exclusive live performance and a screening of his acclaimed new film “The Possibilities are Endless”.
Speaking about the upcoming conference, Collins said: "I'm delighted to be in Liverpool for Sound City, I've always felt an affinity for the place. Back in the Orange Juice days we were regulars in the city playing at places like Eric's. I've always had great support from Liverpool and I always look forward to coming back."
Futher announcements include The Vaccines' Justing Young and Freddie Cowan appearing on the In Conversation programme with DJ and presenter Dave Haslam. Liverpudlian singer, guitarist, songwriter and label exec Jane Weaver will also appear.
Everything Everything will join the How? Sessions, where they will be interviewed by Gabby Sanderson. A Q&A forum with the band will follow.
Liverpool Sound City Conference takes place on the 21 & 22 May, while Liverpool Sound City’s music festival takes place 22-24 May.
