More about: Madonna
Caped crusader Madonna's latest album Rebel Heart isn't doing too well sales-wise, reportedly becoming her lowest-selling LP in over 20 years.
As Billboard reports, Rebel Heart sold just 116,000 copies in its first week of sale (compared to previous album MDNA's debut sales of 359,000). According to CoS, these are her lowest sales since 1994's Bedtime Stories - which also failed to debut at No.1.
Not only that, but Showbiz411 reports sales of just 22,800 in her second week - a huge drop of 80%.
While the album has received mixed reviews, it hasn't helped that Rebel Heart was leaked online before it was even announced. One might argue that the huge increase in streaming might also be responsible for Rebel Heart not matching the heights of MDNA and Hard Candy.
Since then, it's been a campaign trail of ill-informed quotes and image appropriation, and of course the monumental stage crash at the BRIT Awards.
