Lil' Wayne is due to appear in court in New York today to be sentenced for gun possession.
The rapper, real name Dwayne Carter, is expected to be handed a maximum one-year sentence as part of a plea deal.
But that could be reducded to eight months with good behaviour.
Lil' Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted gun possession at a court hearing last October.
He was arrested in July 2007 when police found him trying to conceal a .40 calibre semi-automatic loaded handgun on his tour bus.
The rapper said recently that he was “looking forward” to beginning his prison sentence.
