James Corden has admitted he was left “shocked” by the public’s response after he was chosen to host this year’s BRIT Awards.
The Gavin And Stacey star faced a barrage of criticism on Twitter following the announcement yesterday (January 13).
In response, Corden, who also hosted the ceremony two years ago with Kylie Minogue and Mat Horne, said he was unsure how to react.
“I just read some comments about me hosting the Brits,” he said. “I'm not sure what to say really except i'll try my best. I was looking forward to it.”
Corden also re-tweeted some of the negative comments, one of which described him as an “unfunny, uncharismatic, mingy has-been”.
Meanwhile, the nominations for this year’s BRIT Awards were announced in London last night.
The ceremony takes place at the O2 Arena on February 15.

The BRIT Awards - The Best Bits
- What a fat twat this bloke is.Not funny and never will be.He's ignorant ,disrespectful and totally up his own arse.I wish his 15 minutes of fame would have lasted 15 minutes,as he is talentless and was by far the least funniest on Gav & Stacey.I hopoe he will explode soon due to continued over eating
- whoo go james
- Leave him alone. Anyone chosen to host these awards deserves to do so.
- really dont like this guy. never have, never will. i'm not the only one...
- just like ricky gervaise absolutely crap not funny at all. the most maddening thing is, they think that everybody loves them and thinks they are funny.
