Dave Grohl has said he’s impressed with Foo Fighters’ Reading performance – as he thinks they used to be terrible.
The band are arguably on of the biggest in the world and recently headlined the Reading and Leeds festivals with fans hailing their brilliant performances. However, this was not always the case, at least as far as Dave Grohl is concerned.
Speaking to NME magazine, the Foo Fighters frontman said: “We used to suck but now we are pretty good."
“We don't do those little shows. We do those big shows, where everybody goes home saying, 'I can't believe they played that many f**king songs.'”
He also said that he never expected the Foo Fighters to become as successful as they now are, particularly after Nirvana ended.
Grohl added: “Like any band we didn't expect to be playing to an audience this big. It's a big f**king deal.
“You don't need a computer, you don't need to finish high school, you just need to pick up a guitar and start a band. I'd like to say thank you for the past 20 years of my life.”
Grohl recently had to deny rumours that the band are splitting up after commenting at Reading festival that it would be their "last show for a long time."
