The xx - Coexist (XL): The three-piece have a lot to live up to after the runaway success of their beautiful, sparse, Mercury-winning 2010 debut. But with strong reviews in the press and released during the week 2012 Mercury nominations are announced, The xx could well be sitting atop the UK charts next Sunday.
Bob Dylan - Tempest (Columbia): One of the biggest cultural figures of the last 50 years, Dylan releases the 35th studio album of his career. Reportedly a darker record than some of his recent releases, the LP contains a tribute to friend John Lennon and a 14-minute song inspired by the Titanic.
Pet Shop Boys - Elysium (Parlophone): The 11th studio album by the electropop duo was recorded in Los Angeles and comes three years after their Outstanding Contribution to British Music Brit award in 2009.
David Byrne & St. Vincent - Love This Giant (4AD/Todo Mundo): The combination of the former Talking Heads frontman, 60, and solo artist Annie Clarke, 29, isn't one you could have predicted before their project was announced earlier this year, but positive reviews for the collaborative LP have been rolling in ahead of its release next week.
The Script - #3 (Phonogenic): This is The Voice judge Danny O'Donoghue's day job, and '#3' is not so surprisingly the band's third LP. It includes the Will.i.am-featuring single 'Hall of Fame'.
Toy - Toy (Heavenly): Debut album by the London indie band, which includes former members of ill-fated outfit Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong.
ZZ Top - La Futura (Eagle Vision): Formed in Houston, Texas, in 1969, the ZZ Top have since had a career to match their beards - long and illustrious. Their 15th studio album features a song that was played out in space earlier this year by megafan NASA astronaut Mike Fossum.
Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra: Theatre Is Evil (Cooking Vinyl): The Dresden Dolls frontwoman famously got the money together for this third solo release using the crowd-funding website Kickstarter, raising a record-breaking $1.1 million from fan donations.
Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - Lawless OST (Sony Classical): Cave wrote the screenplay for and even has a short cameo in the new Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf-starring flick. Teaming up with fellow Bad Seed Ellis, he then also wrote and recorded the this dark Americana soundtrack.
Gallows - Gallows (PIAS): The Watford hardcore punk outfit release their third LP and first featuring the new line-up after singer Wade MacNeil replaced original frontman Frank Carter last year.
Emilia Mitiku - I Belong To You (Warner Brothers): Swedish pop and soul singer Mitiku - real name Emilia Rydberg - releases her fifth studio album.
Calexico - Algiers (City Slang): Named after the street they recorded the album on in New Orleans, the Arizona duo's release their sixth LP of Americana.
Lonsdale Boys Club - Lonsdale Boys Club (Future/Island): The London three-piece supported Olly Murs on tour earlier this year after signing to Gary Barlow's Future Records imprint to release this, their debut album.
