Singer says he will 'turn back time' for women
'Believe' chart topper Cher has teamed up with American actress and comedian Kathy Griffin for a new ad encouraging women not to vote Republican. Watch the video below.
The YouTube video is the latest in a series from Actually.org, which describes itself as an organisation which "spreads the truth, because the truth matters - even in politics."
In the video, Cher and Kathy point out the false statement that members of the Republican party have made about women's issues, such as abortion and rape, focusing on Mitt Romney and his bid for the US presidency.
However, the comments have been filled with internet trolls and pro-Republican users, leaving abusive messages.
One user wrote, "Nothing suits the Obama campaign like two Hollywood wh**es. Wake up people," and a different user commented, "B**ches, I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO going to be thinking about the two of you and the "rights" that you FEAR will be taken away from you & those you pretend to give a c**p about WHILE I'M VOTING FOR ROMNEY."
Cher is just the latest star to weigh in on the election, with this year gaining more controversy than before.
Kiss guitarist Gene Simmons has spoken up about his support for Mitt Romney, while Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello supported neither - accusing Obama of war crimes and labelling Republican VP candidate Paul Ryan a "jackass."
The election campaign is currently in the final day, with the election itself taking place tomorrow (6 November).
