Facebook users have this week been scammed by the promise of a Taylor Swift and Harry Styles sex tape, with a fake link promising saucy footage of the former couple being spread on the social network.
After recently breaking up with the One Direction heartthrob, Swift was the perfect target for a sex tape scam.
"The famous singer Taylor Swift had her iPhone hacked Monday and a sex tape between her and former boyfirend Harry Styles has been leaked on the Internet," read a post spotted earlier this week by HoaxSlayer and Bitdefender.
"Taylor's publicists are trying to take down all of the websites hosting it, but we found a working one! Watch the video before it's taken down!" the post continued.
But when something appears to be too good to be true it probably means it is, more so on the internet than anywhere else.
The scam uses almost exactly the same wording as a similar ploy two years ago that claimed to have footage of Miley Cyrus.
Unsurprisingly the link doesn't take the viewer to raunchy footage of Swift at all, instead swamping them with numerous surveys and scams that ask for contact details.
Providing any of the information asked for will make the user more likely to recieve spam emails or texts and may even install malware on the computer being used.
Styles is said to be concentrating on music rather than ladies now
Swift and her transatlantic boyfriend Styles split shortly after Christmas after taking a holiday together.
Styles now says he's concentrating on making his work with One Direction as good as possible instead of chasing ladies.
