Hardwell has been awarded the title of No.1 World DJ in DJ Mag's poll of Top 100 DJ's.
The Dutchman stole the prize from Armin Van Buuren who had previously won five years in a row and this year slips to the No.2 position. Though it came as some surprise, Hadwell's win had been predicted in the weeks running up to the Awards that were held last night (19 October) in Amsterdam.

Avicii and David Guetta were also high scorers in the years poll, taking slots in the Top 5, with Tiesto slipping to No.4. Tiesto needn't be disheartened, though as he also picked up the Top 100 DJ Legend Award.
Speaking of the award Tiesto said: "My career as a DJ started not too far away from Amsterdam in my hometown of Breda, so it is an incredible honour to win the 'KLM Legend Award' at home in front of my family, friends, colleagues and fans. Thank you very much to everyone who voted."
