Q-Tip has expressed his disapproval of Kanye West's use of the Confederate flag on his tour merchandise.
A tshirt, which features the Confederate flag and is selling on West's Yeezus tour, has already received a heap of criticism over its use. The flag, previously used as a symbol of white supremecy in the southern states of the US is emblazoned across various items of merchandise for Kanye Wests American tour, and Q-Tip, who opens the tour isn't too pleased.
Q-Tip, who is due to open the New York show on Kanye's tour took to Twitter to express his anger: "Fuck the confederate flag, I love Kanye no shots but my people continue to suffer psychologically from harships that happened under that banner."
Kanye West's tour tshirt's have received a lot of criticism for this design that includes the Corporate flag as well as a human skull
In defence of his merchandise, Kanye spoke to 97.1 AMP Radio and said: "React how you want. Like I said, any energy you got is good energy.
"You know, the Confederate flag represented slavery, in a way - that's my abstract take on what I know about it, right? So I made the song 'New Slaves.' So I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. It's my flag now! Now what are you gonna do?"
