Beach Boys hero and living legend Brian Wilson has been confirmed as the first headliner of the returning Hop Farm festival his summer.
Wilson is the first act to be announced for the event since it was resurrected under new management following prior years' cancellation.
The surf-pop hero, who co-wrote more than two dozen Top 40 hits for the Beach Boys, will perform his only UK performance of 2014 at the Kent event. No other artists have been revealed yet, but the full line-up is set to be announced on Friday 7 March, 2014.
Following on from the cancellation of last year's event due to extremely poor ticket sales, the event will be re-styled as a smaller boutique festival that will offer more than just music and accommodate 20,000 punters. Hop Farm head of marketing Miguel Fenton previously said: "The event is going ahead, which is great news. There will be a fresh approach under a new promoter."
Confusingly, the event is in no way affiliated with Vince Power's Hop Farm Festival, which will take place at a different location in Tunbridge Wells this summer. Previous headliners of Vince Power's event (which took place at Hop Farm from 2008 until last year's cancellation) include Prince, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Eagles, and many more.
The Hop Farm Music Festival 2014 (the one at Hop Farm Tonbridge, Kent with Brian Wilson) will take place from Friday 4 - Sunday 6 July. Tickets will be on sale from 1 February. For more information, visit Gigwise gig tickets.
