We Will Rock You, London's critically-acclaimed musical featuring the music of Queen will close after 12 successful years on the West End stage, it has been revealed.
Written by Ben Elton and co-produced by the surviving band members alongside Robert DeNiro, the show is based around songs such as 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Radio Gaga' and 'Another One Bites the Dust'. The plot centers around a dystopian future in which music is banned (yes really) and rebels fight back.
Despite being panned by critics, the £8 million production has put 16 million bums-on-seats in 28 countries around the world and frequently plays host to standing ovations. Additionally it is ranked in the Top 10 of the longest running west end musicals. Now it will finally see the end of its run, with the curtain coming down for the last time on 1 June.

The closure follows on from the band's announcement that they would be embarking on an extensive tour with Adam Lambert. The 19 date run will see them travel across America with Lambert in place of Freddie Mercury.
