7 May, 2014: US superstar Janelle Monae is in the UK for a whistlestop tour (just three live shows) and last night performed a spectacular gig at Manchester's Academy. See photos from the gig here.
After being wheeled onto the stage in a straight-jacket, the singer performed a 13-track show of her own material, such as guaranteed party-starters 'Dance Apocalyptic' and 'Tightrope', alongside covers of The Jackson 5's 'I Want You Back' and 'Lets Go Crazy' by Prince.
