The singer and his band Crazy Horse hit Hyde Park
Tags: Neil Young
12 July, 2014: Neil Young and Crazy Horse headlined the latest in a series of Hyde Park gigs that form British Summertime festival last night. Following warm-up acts including Tom Odell and The National, Neil Young brought his immense experience to the London park. If you were lucky enough to get tickets for £2.50 after that monumental cock-up a few weeks ago, we salute you.
Our reviewer reports, "The inverted beauty of Neil Young is that it has only ever been about the music; there’s never been sex appeal or product endorsements to detract from the songs. So when he walks onto the stage with a baseball cap reversed, overgrown, feral white mutton-chop side burns and a snarled expression each time he opens his mouth, you actually feel a perverse sense of relief - for Neil Young in 2014, as in 1971, simply doesn’t give a fuck."
