Biffy Clyro have announced their first UK show of the year - headlining Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations in October on New Year's Eve. Full dates and ticket details are below.

The band will be joined by Idlewild and Honeyblood in an exclusively Scottish line-up for the Concert in the Gardens on Thursday 31 December. Organisers have expressed that it’s a ”real coup" for Biffy Clyro to make their only live UK performance of the year at the event which they previously headlined in 2010.

Biffy Clyro released a statement about the exciting announcement that they’re finally returning to the stage.

”We are so happy to come out of musical hibernation to kick off 2016 with the show on Hogmanay. "We want to rock off the cobwebs and prepare for the year of da biff. Nothing can compete with Edinburgh's celebrations and we hope to make it a special night for everyone."

Director of Edinburgh's Hogmanay, Pete Irvine said: "Their stand-out performance two years ago headlining T in the Park reminded us that they are one of the most exciting live bands ever to come out of Scotland.

"Biffy have built a big international following and headlining an impressive Scottish line-up at Concert in the Gardens will please both the Scots and our audience who come from over 70 countries." Full details of the street party line-up and other events will be announced in October.

Biffy Clyro will play Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations on Thursday 31 December. Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday 25 September. For tickets and more information, visit here

At the beginning of the year, Biffy frontman Simon Neil revealed that the band has over ’20 aggressive songs’ in the pipeline for their next album, an LP they have been focusing on after choosing to take a year off from touring.

Let's hope they greet those in attendance with some brand new material for everybody to feast their ears on.
