Brilliant bands reforming for 2015 festival season

Including Sleater-Kinney, The Pop Group and more

Sleater-Kinney: The world initially thought Sleater-Kinney, who split in 2006, were celebrating their 20th anniversary simply by releasing a career-spanning boxset. Little did we know that they'd secretly recorded an entire new album, No Cities To Love, which they released at the start of 2015. Now officially reformed, they're playing BBC Radio 6 Music Festival in Newcastle in February, and Barcelona's Primavera in May. We're sure more dates will follow this summer.

We're not sure if it's because 2015 is an aesthetically satisfying number, or because the best bands of the '90s have decided it's time to bring their sound to the 21st century, but this year has been a pretty huge one for reunions already.

For one thing, we've waited 20 years for a riot grrrl resurgence, and then three come along at once. That's not all though - The Pop Group have decided to rectify their criminally short first incarnation by finally recording new material and announcing festival dates, and the massively influential Ride are also making a comeback.
