A judge has ruled that a mother taking her child to a Pink concert does not constitute as parental abuse.
The child's father accused his ex-wife of abusing her position as a parent by taking their 11-year-old daughter to Pink's Truth About Love tour concert in New Jersey back in December 2013. The mother acknowledged that she was concerned about taking her daughter who is reported as ‘dying to go.’
The mom told the court she even looked up clips from the show on YouTube before deciding it was age-appropriate. However the father felt there was 'lyrical profanities' and a ‘sexually suggestive’ nature in some of Pink’s performances and did not want his daughter going.
New Jersey Superior Court Judge Lawrence R. Jones wrote that the mother: "In no way, shape or form exceeded the boundaries of reasonable parental judgment" by attending the Pink concert at Newark's Prudential Centre.
He also stated that: "(The mother's) decision did not subject the child to any unreasonable risk of harm, or compromise (her) health, safety or welfare. To the contrary, when all the smoke from the custody litigation clears, it will be self-evident that all which happened here is that a young girl went to her first rock concert with her mother and had a really great time."
Meanwhile, the singer is set to be awarded by the BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) for her songwriting work next month.
