Myspace. What is it good for? An egotists haven, a seemingly endless list of indenti-kit losers competing in a massive electronic popularity contest. But we all have it yeah? Because its great for discovering new bands and Rupert Murdoch and that man Tom have put three bands on the road together on what they are calling the Bleep Bleep Tour (No us neither).

Most exciting of all the bands is Hadouken! Think Klaxons with added Braaaap. Fusing grime with indie they are a genuine ‘Myspace Sensation’. Ninety percent of tonight’s crowd appears to be under 18 and daubed head to toe in neon. It looks like a Chernobyl victim’s vomit in the Carling Academy. The band takes to the stage to screams, woops and whistles people are shaking their glow sticks like they are going out of fashion (Fingers crossed). Kicking off with ‘Superstar’ Hadouken are certainly impressive. Energetic, angry and good fun its clear to see the appeal but one thing really bothers Gigwise about this band. Their lyrics attack scenesters (“That girls an indie Cindy, Lego haircut and polka dot dress. How she’s different is anyone’s guess”) but their audience is the very same people they are laying their vitriol upon. It’s like hearing The Horrors singing about hating Goths. It’s nonsensical. For such a young band they certainly have potential but they stink of a band whose audience will have moved on in six months. The new Klaxons? No way, the new Test-Icicles? Quite possibly.

Next up is Ali Love and the audience is somewhat depleted (It is a school night, bed times must be adhered to). However Love gives the show is his best shot, sadly his best is sub standard 70’s funk which is less kitsch and more shit. Wearing a feathered waistcoat and a big sovereign ring Love looks like he is trying to be wacky, like the office fool who wears a Christmas tie. He plays his way through the likes of ‘Vincent Brain’, ‘Rock N Roll Control’ and ‘Post Modern Blues’, every song sounding like a more derivative version of its predecessor. Even the excellent ‘K-Hole’ sounds below par. A gig to forget.

Luckily the show is saved by Pull Tiger Tail who are fast becoming one of the most exciting bands in the country. Kicking off with the searing ‘Mr 100%’ the band emit an energy and confidence that many bands take years to achieve. Signed to B-Unique it seems their chances are being sidelined to make room for their insufferable label mates The Twang which would be a real shame and PTT are an exciting edgy pop band, like Weezer meets We Are Scientists. A frantic set bounces along at breakneck speed, barely stopping for breath. The only let up is when a technical error stops the band mid way through a song. PTT’s front two, Marcus and Davo, are a funny pair two. One looking like Chad Kreuger the other Bloc Party’s Russell Lissak their between song banter is funny and charming. As for the songs ‘Hurricane’ is instantly memorable whilst previous single ‘Animator’ is still stuck in this writers head. The set ends with new single ‘Let Lightning' with hordes of fans donning Tiger masks for the occasion.

Right we are going now to put Pull Tiger Tail in our top 8, delete Ali Love and take a picture of ourselves wearing glowstick glasses and send it to Hadouken as a comment. Bye!
