Assembly Now - 'Graphs, Maps & Trees'

Indie music hasn’t quite got the charm that it used to have, but Assembly Now are here to change things. With ‘Graphs Maps & Trees’, things sound undeniably Kooks-esque, yet that charm factor will strut into your ears and get you dancing with joy. Lyrics “The London Eye is blinking over me” make you beam with glee, the acoustic guitar takes charge in subtle fashion but it becomes hard to ignore. Forget all that praise though; the gentle b-side ‘Calculate’ is better without a shadow of a doubt. Editors’ Chris Urbanowicz could be mistaken to be riffing in the background, and despite it not being too spectacular, similar to the a-side, let’s just make sure that nobody forgets about these guys by the time their album comes out - an album which could be quite something.
