Texan born country girl Kelly Clarkson was the first American Idol winner back in 2002 and since winning she’s had multiple top 10 hit singles and built up a successful career in her own right. It’s scary to think 10 years has passed since this American sweetheart first won us over, but now ‘Greatest Hits – Chapter One’ allows us to reminisce on the pop anthems this little lady’s bought us over the years.

Chapter One indicates that a second chapter will be released in the future, but for now this album is more than enough to wet our Clarkson appetite. If you love a bit of fight and a punchy pop track The Greatest Hits combines all her best bits into one glorious package.

One thing Kelly brings to any album is mighty vocals, with one hell of a rock chick attitude. ‘Since U Been Gone’ takes you back to memory lane where Kelly’s feisty song about hating on the opposite sex after a break up is now a pop classic. ‘Miss Independent’ showcases Kelly’s fabulous set of lungs where she spoils us with another angsty hit. You go girl!

Other songs to tick off the Billboard-dominating list are tracks like ‘Mr Know It All’ and ‘Behind These Hazel Eyes’. It’s also nice to see that Kelly’s gone so far in the chart stakes without just relying on sex appeal, like so many other female artists from America. Yes she may have gone through a reality TV show to get there, but damn this girl can sing. The album is purely made up of radio friendly chart toppers where every song in itself is a pop belter.

Infact you get a sense that throughout the years Kelly’s tracks all seem to revolve around heartbreak, but in the nicest possible way. What’s Kelly’s loss is our gain where each track gets fiercer with age. 'Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)' is one of Kelly’s latest offerings where even 10 years on she still knows how to make a catchy tune with plenty of energy.

The Greatest Hits really are a collection of songs that do just what they say on the tin. There’s no weak track here or lagging B-sides, just pure pop beats with a vocal drive that say don’t mess with me, I’m Queen Kelly. An album to keep any Kelly Clarkson fan more than happy and for any X-Factor wannabe, take this as a guide of how to sing properly.
