Kings Of Leon made a triumphant return to the stage last night in London, playing an intimate (well, intimate when you are used to selling out arenas tours and headlining summer festivals) at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire to an hugely enthusiastic crowd.

The crowd were already whipped into frenzy before the first few chords of opening track, 'The Bucket' from their second album, while 'Aha Shake Heartbreak', set the pace for the extensive set. With an impressive back catalogue of five albums to choose from, Kings Of Leon played a long and energised show, including current single ‘Supersoaker’ as well as 'Four Kicks’, followed by 'Molly’s Chamber', a throwback to debut album youth and young manhood from 2003, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Any previous issues of tensions in the band appear to have long since vanished, with the three brothers and cousin coming together and genuinely looking like they were enjoying every second of playing together. The boys were on stage for more than an hour, before taking a five minute break before returning with 'Sex On Fire', the song which pushed them into the mainstream conscious of the nation.

The distinctive sound of Kings Of Leon;  the guitars, the bass, the southern charm, and not forgetting Caleb Followill's shiver-inducing voice, are all seemingly prepped to come back with a vengeance with new album Mechanical Bull set to be released in September.

Anyone got any idea what's going on in the crowd below?

The whole show was incredible, and over the last ten years Kings of Leon have not only matured in their sound, but also their on stage performances. Without a doubt, those in the crowd were lucky to see such a fantastic show in such a small venue. Get ready for the new album; it’s going to be a resounding success.
