“Wack?” Sorry, but we can’t remember the last time we heard that word ever, let alone on multiple occasions in one song. In an era packed with a plethora of solo female stars, i.e. the Winehouse’s, the Allen’s, the Nash’s, the Nicole’s, Rosie Oddie (yes, she is the daughter of TV’s most famous ornithologist, Bill) might feel inclined to feel like she’s turned up to the party just as Winehouse has had the last bottle of Jack Daniels. She needn’t worry though because there is always a spare bottle for people like her, especially if they continue to make little tripped out, infused guitar records like this. To quote Oddie, we could say that ‘Genni’s Song’ is “so wack,” yet, according to Wikipedia it’s actually a negative slang term. Instead then, we’ll just say it’s brilliant, or rad, or something hip like that.
Released on 16/07/07 on Angelic Records.
